what's new international pussycat?

I'm just going to jump straight in today. I spent the whole of yesterday in bed with a stomach bug (I say the whole of yesterday...I did keep having to move. Ewwww) and I feel kind of crappy still, so let's look at fabric and make me feel better....

SPOT ON WIDE IS HERE! 108" wide fabrics for backing quilts by Robert Kaufman (I just ordered the chartreuse for starters - I'll need more though once I've checked out how the colour translates and stuff. It's hard to tell online). Finally we seem to be getting a few more modern examples trickling out (Riley Blake have some too that are due out in June - chevrons and  dots. Brenda is ordering them for Pink Castle, so I'll let you know as soon as they arrive). I really love these because they at least have a colour and white, whereas the moda dotties (which are also fantastic and I use a lot) are tonal.

Also new in this week is Geekly Chic  from Dorothy Tsang for Riley Blake. These are a lot of fun. Perfect for pouches and pillows. A dress would be cool out of the cassettes print, wouldn't it? Something like a washi dress maybe?

A quick reminder that camp stitchalot is coming up fast. I have my flight booked, and I'm really excited!

I'm teaching framed purses, but I think I'll do some on the side english paper piecing teaching if anyone has questions and wants to try it, I'll be travelling with some hand stitching so I'm happy to share my tips and what nots to anyone interested. Melody Miller, Rashida Coleman Hale, Rae Hoekstra (Made by Rae) and me are your camp counsellers, with Brenda as the fabulous host.
There are still some tickets available, so if you were thinking of going then do - it's going to be such a lot of fun, I'm really excited to be going!

Fat Quarter Shop also have the spot on 108" wide fabrics in stock. I'm expecting the grey to be the most popular colour, but all 8 are really great, and so very usable.

In case you missed my excitement the other day (and, quite frankly, because I'm still ridiculously excited by this) I have a bloggers bundle with Fat Quarter Shop! It's not out until July but you can sign up to get an email when it arrives.

Jet Setter from Marcus Brothers is one of those collections that I would walk right on past in a store.

But look at the great basics that come as white on black...

and black on white....

Twenty Three by Eric and Julie Comstock (AKA Cosmo Cricket) is in stock - both pre cuts and yardage. Take a really good look at this collection, I think it might be the best one so far. Maybe. Definitely the best Cosmo Cricket collection for Moda (Tailor Made will probably remain my absolute favourite, but that was back in the olden days when Cosmo Cricket were still with Andover). I'm still trying to decide whether I should get large yardage cuts of some prints, or if a FQ bundle will do me.

Peg is having a flat rate shipping special this weekend only at Sew Fresh Fabrics. Orders will be shipped in flat rate envelopes but charged at the following;

US shipping $2.50
Canada $10
International $12

That's a really good saving, half off regular prices.

You could stock up on Summersville Spring which is new in....

Becca at Sew Me A Song has had some new arrivals

Lola Pink has an inventory sale of up to 50% off selected fabrics and patterns until Wednesday 20th March

Pick up a great deal such as 30% off Madrona Road

or 50% off adventures with Alice by Darlene Zimmerman

We're skipping off Down Under to Australia to say hi to a new sponsor now. I realised the Aussies were sorely represented in the What's New posts, so say a big hello to Emma and the team at Ballarat Patchwork.

This weekend there's a 20% off special on A Day in the Country fabrics (until Sunday 17th, online only)

A day in the country are a great range of basics and blenders that are Aussie home grown. Well worth checking out, especially with the 20% off deal. Rita has a giveaway going on at the moment for a bundle of these fabrics, so check that out as well (it's open internationally).

Speeding across the ocean and heading back to the UK, London to be precise and The Village Haberdashery.

Ruby Star Sparkle is in stock now. Build a FQ bundle option as well as yardage.

Stamped has also just arrived, with the build a bundle option as well as yardage.

Lots of new arrivals at M is For Make

Stitch floral is a great basic and blender from Michael Miller

Shuffle is a great blender from Riley Blake

Over at Simply Solids, Summersville Spring charm packs are in stock now.

Follow Simply Solids on Facebook or sign up for the newsletter for all the latest news. Every Tuesday Justine is having a special that is just for that one day. It's worth checking out!

Shelburne falls bundle and yardage is in stock at Backstitch. I mentioned this last week, but I really think this line is worth mentioning every week. It doesn't look all that thrilling online or in pictures, but in real life it's fantastic. Let's face it - how many of Denyse's lines have been instant attention grabbers? They're not designed that way - they're reproduction prints and they're timeless. The addition of navy and lilac to this collection is great alongside those more familiar acid greens and blues.

I spotted some absolute bargains in the clearance section of Eclectic Maker

LouLouthi from Anna Maria Horner at £2.21/FQ

New in at Eclectic Maker is Summersville Spring.

Pre-cuts and yardage.

Phew. That's it. These single posts are a lot more work than splitting it over the weekend. I guess they're not, they just feel that way. I started this 2 hours ago, and I'm finally done. Craziness. Roll on April and going back to 2 posts over the weekend!!!

Have a great weekend everyone. I'll see you maybe tomorrow if I can get my act together and some photos of my birthday loot taken today. I got so much great stuff. It really does help when you have awesomely talented friends (although when it comes round to making stuff for them, it gets tough).

I love my 2wenty Thr3e FQ bundle, but I think I am going to need more of the cute photo label print. It seems to be made specifically for fussy cutting into project labels, but they aren't spaced apart enough for that; for each label you use - at least 3 will but cut into :(
